Getting the YouTube banner size right

YouTube shows a different slice of the banner on TVs, computers and phones. Only a strip in the middle, about 1546 × 423 pixels, appears everywhere.

Resize the full image here to 2560 × 1440, and make sure your channel name and logo sit in that centre strip. If your artwork is a wide strip already, use "Fit a wide logo" to place it in the middle without cropping.

    Questions

Why does my banner look cut off on my phone?

Phones only show the centre strip of the banner. Move text and logos towards the middle so they fall inside the roughly 1546 × 423 px area.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The resizing runs inside your browser with JavaScript, so the image stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share it with "Share by link" in the Download step. Once the page has loaded, resizing keeps working even if you go offline. If your device can't handle an image, the tool can shrink it on our server instead, but only if you agree, and it is deleted right away.
