    What this page does
    Sizes112 × 112, 56 × 56 and 28 × 28 px
    FormatPNG with transparency
    File sizeUnder 1 MB each

Twitch can also generate the smaller sizes from one large image. Check Twitch's creator dashboard for the current upload rules.

    How to use it

    1. Drop your emote artwork (ideally a large square PNG).
    2. Download the 112 px version, then click 56 and 28 and download those.
    3. Upload each file in the Twitch emote manager.

    Keeping emotes readable when small

At 28 × 28 pixels, fine lines and small text disappear. Emotes that read well at small sizes use thick outlines, a simple shape and strong contrast. Check the 28 px preview before you upload.

The tool keeps your transparency and fits the artwork inside the square without cropping, so a slightly wide or tall design is centred with transparent space around it.

    Questions

Can I use this for badges too?

Twitch subscriber badges use 72, 36 and 18 px. Enter those sizes in Settings with the format set to PNG.

Why is my emote blurry at 28 px?

Shrinking to 28 pixels removes almost all detail. Simplify the design (bolder lines, fewer colours) rather than relying on the resize.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The resizing runs inside your browser with JavaScript, so the image stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share it with "Share by link" in the Download step. Once the page has loaded, resizing keeps working even if you go offline. If your device can't handle an image, the tool can shrink it on our server instead, but only if you agree, and it is deleted right away.
