Getting the email signature image size right

Large images in a signature make every email heavy, and some mail apps shrink or block them. Signature images are shown small, usually 100 to 300 pixels wide.

Saving at twice the display size keeps them sharp on high-resolution screens while staying light.

    Questions

Should the logo be PNG or JPG?

PNG for logos with flat colours or transparency, JPG for photos. The presets choose for you.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The resizing runs inside your browser with JavaScript, so the image stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share it with "Share by link" in the Download step. Once the page has loaded, resizing keeps working even if you go offline. If your device can't handle an image, the tool can shrink it on our server instead, but only if you agree, and it is deleted right away.
