How to use it
- Choose or drop your photo.
- The tool saves it under 20 KB at the best quality that fits.
- If the result is below 10 KB, it is raised above the minimum automatically. Then download.
Why forms ask for a range
This range is typical for signatures, for example the 10 KB to 20 KB limit listed for SSC signature uploads. The maximum keeps uploads small; the minimum stops people sending tiny, unreadable images. A file outside the range is rejected, even if it looks fine.
This page handles both ends. Large photos are compressed to under 20 KB. Small photos are saved at top quality, and if they are still under 10 KB, the tool adds padding data that image viewers ignore, so the picture is unchanged and the file meets the minimum.
Where this size is required
These uploads on our exam, ID and visa pages use this limit. Each link opens the form's page with a preset for every upload.
| Form | Upload | Required size |
|---|---|---|
| PAN card | Photo | Up to 20 KB |
| SSC | Signature | 10 KB to 20 KB |
| IBPS | Signature | 10 KB to 20 KB |
| SBI | Signature | 10 KB to 20 KB |
| UPSSSC PET | Signature | 10 KB to 20 KB |
| Voter ID | Photo | 10 KB to 20 KB |
| LAUTECH Post-UTME | Photo | Up to 20 KB |
Questions
Is padding the file allowed?
The padding is a standard comment block inside the JPG that every viewer skips. The photo looks exactly the same; only the byte count changes. Forms check the file size, and the padded file passes.
My photo comes out at 20 KB minus a little. Is that fine?
Yes. Anything from 10 KB up to 20 KB is inside the range. The tool aims near the top of the range because more data means a sharper photo.
Does the form count 20 KB as 20000 or 20480 bytes?
Websites differ, so the tool plays it safe: the file is kept at or below 20,000 bytes, which passes whether the form counts 1 KB as 1000 or 1024 bytes.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The resizing runs inside your browser with JavaScript, so the image stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded unless you choose to share it with "Share by link" in the Download step. Once the page has loaded, resizing keeps working even if you go offline. If your device can't handle an image, the tool can shrink it on our server instead, but only if you agree, and it is deleted right away.
